Nimal Mendis was perhaps our first songster to hit the top of the pops
in Britain. ‘Kisses in dark’, and ‘Kandyan express’ were the most popular.
Nimal came
back to Sri Lanka from time to time and did the music for the film ‘ Kalu
diya Dhara’- Master sir etc.
He produced
the very popular song Nim Him Seva with Amaradeva singing it. Yet very popular.
He passed
away a few months back, as he said awaiting it.
