Translation:-

Like a bee is attracted to a flower, your memory comes to my mind,
Like the rays of sunshine the heart smiles, you smile.

At the moment when the heart fades with sorrow,
I am reminded of you and and my sorrow fades away.

The world is lighted up and the night disappears,
Numerous times, I remember you.

Verse recited by Philip, at the end of his short acknowledgement of Sarath’s role, in the Batch of 1960 Medical entrants and its reunions, at the cremation grounds.

Lives of great men all remind us
        We can make our lives sublime,
    And, departing, leave behind us
        Footprints on the sands of time ;

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882)

Childhood toys, Kandy, Sri Lanka.

Photo of children in a village around the hills of  Kandy enjoying the
ride on the arecanut leaf.
Note the dog and serenity.
Stuck for lunch, we were hosted far an impromptu rotti meal by these people
who did not know us at all previously.
The song goes ' mata denna mage punchi kaale' Give me my childhood.
