Minutes for the third meeting of the General Committee of CoMSAA
held on 05th October 2011 at 12 noon
Venue: Senior Common Room, Faculty of Medicine, Colombo. Present:

At the outset the president welcomed the committee members for the third meeting of the general committee of CoMSAA.
Meeting commenced with correction and confirmation of last minutes. Confirmation of minutes were proposed by Prof. Harsha R. Seneviratne and seconded by Dr. Piyusha Atapattu.
1. Web site
Mr. Asith de Silva had provided a sample web site with the quotation of Rs. 92000.00 for design and installation. The committee decided to look at other quotations before making a decision on this offer. Dr. Piyusha Atapattu and Prof. A. Kaluarachchi agreed to look into this.
2. Logo
A logo has submitted by Mr. B. N.T.M. Borukgama. Committee decided that
a. Certain alternations to be made
b. That a legend explaining the contents should also be added
This was discussed with Mr. B. N.T.M. Borukgama
3. Letter head
Members added the titles that they wanted on the letter head.

4. Office space
No communications have been received from the Dean as yet.
5. Bank account and receipt book
The following details were given by Prof. Jennifer Perera
a. Cheques should be written in favour of COLOMBO MEDICAL SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, account no. 72262672 of Bank of Ceylon, Regent Street Branch.
b. The cheque/ cheque deposit slip together with the application form should be sent to Prof. Jennifer Perera, Treasurer CoMSAA, Faculty of Medicine, PO Box 271, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
c. For internet banking or telegraphic transfer please use the following information(Swift code: BCEYLKLX, Bank code : 7010; Branch code : 627) and drop an email to comsaa@rocketmail.com about the transfer.
d. Savings Account no: 72251147 of Bank of Ceylon, Regent Street Branch.
6. Membership drive
A CD containing names and addresses of all doctors registered with SLMC has been obtained.
Graduates from the Colombo Medical Faculty have been identified.
All members agreed to get as many addresses as possible from their batches.
7. News letter
Electronic news letter designed by Dr. B J C Perera and Dr. Chandra Jayasuriya was discussed. Members agreed to the format. Following were appointed to the editorial committee.

8. Development of a corporate plan
Prof. Harsha Seneviratne agreed to provide summarized version of the detailed corporate plan that he brought to the meeting.

1960 entrants Reunion in July 2010, Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

Decisions of the organising committee, for the 1960 entrants batch reunion.

The meeting was held in the house of Durumila on 21/11/2009.

It was attended by Sarath Kapuwaththe, Geri Jayasekara, Buddhi Kaluaratchchi, Ranjan Fernando, Philip Veerasingam, Ranjini Thevarapperuma and Durumila Kumara.

1. Problems regarding the printing of the souvenir were discussed. These included the charges for advertisements in it. Buddhi and Duru promised to get some adverts.

2. The costs for attendance are as follows:-

Single rooms Rs.10,500/- per day

Double rooms Rs.12,000/- per day

Triple rooms Rs.15,000/- per day

A two day booking will cover Friday 2nd July 2010, Lunch to 4th July 2010 Sunday Breakfast.

Additional Rs2000/- each for the Gala Dinner on Saturday 3rd July 2010.

3. There is no advance payment for bookings now

Please give your full name, the type of rooms required and the number of days one or two to the following by email and get confirmation

Ms.Indu. Chandrawansa is dealing with the bookings.

Please keep in mind the heavy bookings in the tourist hotels in Sri Lanka.

You cannot get last minute bookings.

4. There is a special option for anyone resident in Sri Lanka from the 1960 entrants batch, to attend the sessions from outside. The hotel costs for meals for those resident in SLwould be:-

Breakfast – Rs.1400/-

Lunch - Rs.1400/-

Dinner – Rs.2800/-

5. Anyone interested in a trip to Trincomalee and night stay there, after the get-together at Dambulla, should contact us at
