‘Raja Kapuru’ stage play. 15 year ago. True today.
Traditionally searching for a new king, the  elephant walked all over the country and knelt down in   front of a field scarecrow.
The scarecrow had to be made king. So he was, managing the country from his castle runde by a moat. Soon he was advised to choose a bride to regularize lineage.
This is when agents went in search of   a bride.
All the damsels were pruning themselves up to be selected.
The song is a description of the efforts of the damsels.
It was a very keen satire on  Sri Lanka.
