Explorer Ben Cropp has set off on a six week mission to find a 500-year-old cannon which will prove for the first time Portuguese sailors were the first to land in Australia in the early 1520s.

The menopause could be eliminated in 20 years, scientist predicts.

Stem cell scientist Aubrey de Grey said that rapid progress in stem cell and regenerative therapies meant that current age limits on when women can conceive and give birth were likely to vanish.
