Cricket - International -
Played for Sri Lanka (Ceylon) against England, Australia and Pakistan as opening bat. Captained Sri Lanka against England. (Colin Cowdrey's team).
Held Sri Lankan record for opening stand with Ranjit Fernando for about 10 years.
Cricket - Sara Trophy -
Macan Markar trophy for the highest score for the season - 177. Happenned in my first season.
Headed the Ceylon batting averages twice. Highest aggregate twice.
Vice captain of Sara trophy champion team captained by Carlyle Perera.
Captain of the Sara Trophy Runner up team the following year.
Darwin, Australia - 2nd highest all time score in Darwin - 200 not out. (My captain declared the innings closed not knowing that the highest all time score was 214)!

Table Tennis - National champion of Sri Lanka 3 times.
National doubles champion 6 times.
National champion of Australia (over 65 age group)
National Aust. doubles champ (over 60 and over 65) 3 times.
Represented Australia internationally.
World championships Silver medal in over 65 doubles.
World Masters Games Silver medal in team event.
Victorian State champion over 60 singles and doubles.
Captained Sri Lanka TT team in Asian Games Bankok, and Asian Championships, SIngapore and Peking International Tournament, China.
Chosen to captain Australia over 65 against New Zealand - to be played in April 2010.


General - Double double international
Two sports - The only Sri Lankan to have captained the country in Cricket and another sport.
Two countries - Represented Sri Lanka and Australia.
If all goes well to April, will have captained two countries.
The first to medically examine Muralidharan and clear him of throwing.
Clarinettist - Neurones Dance Band, Medical college Colombo and Wesley Uniting Church Box Hill Victoria
Singer song writer of about 30 songs. 4 CD's.
Surgeon
Elder, Uniting Church.
Most important - Husband, father, and now grandfather of 4 boys, aged 8,6,4 and 1.8.
Perspective - There are heaps of others who have done better and more important things. My batch mates are star doctors and professors. The Sri Lankan cricketers from the late 1990's to now are among the best in the world and far better than I ever was.
