Do not forget Sabin who pioneered the production of the LIVE ATTENUATED POLIO VACCINE.
The oral vaccine eradicated polio in various countries and is continuing the process.
Sabin visited Ceylon in the early 1960s and gave a lecture to us medical students.
The cases of polio we saw when we were interns, in special wards having the 'Iron lung' are no more to be seen.
