Lament of a man who kept silent.

Pastor Martin Niemöller:
Hear his words, for what it is worth!
..................................................................
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

You have sent out the tentative dates around June/July and I would very much hope you would select a date within this period and finalise it early.  I saw a comment  if it would be raining in June!!. Sri Lankan weather would be as always unpredictable and should not be a deciding factor. After all, we are palanning a days event.

Laughing children, Gurubewilagama, Rathnapura, Sri Lanka.

A few years back we did a trip to a rural school in the 'back of beyond' about 30 Km from Rathnapura. As part of the days programme we projected a video of 'Takashi's Castle' a Japanese production. The children thoroughly enjoyed the show. I took this video of the laughing children.

Another alien couple - Related by Jansz.

'Mad Jansz' of our physiology lectures on reproduction had this tale to tell.

An alien couple landed on planet earth and met a newly married 'swinging' couple. They got very close and the alien couple wanted to know how human beings reproduced. The human couple obliged and did the sex act before the alien couple. Then the alien couple wanted to see the young human. 'Oh' said the human couple, 'you have to wait NINE MONTHS to see the young one'. The aliens were surprised and remarked  'If that takes such a long time, why was that indecent haste at the last moments of your sex act?' The humans had no answer to that.

Tetanus Shot.

Email from JKS Weerasekera.

(This is for you old folks, i.e., anyone over (or close to) 65 is eligible! )

An old man in his mid-seventies struggles to get up from the couch then starts putting on his coat.

His wife, seeing the unexpected behaviour, asks, Where are you going?'
He replies, 'I'm going to the doctor.'

She says, 'Why, are you sick?'
He says, 'Nope, I'm going to get me some of that Viagra stuff.'

Immediately the wife starts working and positioning herself to get out of her rocker and begins to put on her coat.

He says, 'Where the heck are you going'?
She answers, 'I'm going to the doctor, too.'

He says, 'Why, what do you need?'

She says, 'If you're going to start using that rusty old thing, I'm getting a Tetanus shot.'
