Historic photos in color - Flipboard
Do historic photographs look better in colour? The colorizers think so. Skilled digital artists such as Sanna Dullaway and Jordan J Lloyd are keen to remind us that the past was as colourful as the present – and their message is spreading though Reddit and Facebook.

Talking dog - email from jksw
DOG FOR SALE :
A guy is driving around the back woods of Dunningand he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style house: 'Talking Dog For Sale'He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.
The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.
'You talk?' he asks.
'Yep,' the Lab replies.
After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk,he says 'So, what's your story?'
The Lab looks up and says,'Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was pretty young.. I wanted to help the government, so I told theSAS.
In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would beeavesdropping.'
'I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running...
But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so
I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at theairport to do some undercover security, wandering nearsuspicious characters and listening in.I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.'
'I got married, had loads of puppies, and now I'm justretired.'
The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.
'Ten quid,' the guy says.
'Ten quid? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'
'Because he's a liar……….. He's never been out of the garden'-- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by Pinpoint Securemail, and is believed to be clean.
The sound barrier - email forwarded by jkksw
!
An airplane flies producing a huge sound as it flies. The sound mercifully flies faster and leaves the plane.
What happens at the speed of sound? That sound cannot leave the plane site as both travel at the same speed!
In a few seconds a crescendo of sound! And Bam!
So a plane has to rapidly accelerate beyond and dart through quick past that critical speed, before sound builds up to break up levels!
jksw
P.S. we may have actually done this if we have cracked a whip. Arthur Clarke says that the crack sound is due to the same effect.
