In the mid 1950s I remember reading an enjoyable book titled 'Speeding North with the Royal Scot', from the library at Hartley College, Poin t-Pedro, Sri Lanka. It gave me a thrilling experience. The idea of filling the water tank of the steam engine while on the run, by scooping water from a linear pool between the sleepers, is one I remember well.
