Long time ago I heard this. An octogenarian was taking a stroll with his ten year old grand-son David. The youngster was constantly saying 'My Daddy said this' or 'My Daddy did that'. The exasperated old man who felt left out came to a halt. Looking at his grandson with love he said gently ' David, remember that you are not only your father's son, you are also your grand-fathers grand-son'. It took a lifetime for David to work out its meaning.
