Dr. K - Invitation to view
I have a healthy collection of email
addresses from the time when preparing for the Celebration of Life we held for
Tissa Kappagoda at the end of March. I realized many of you possibly would like
to have access to the taping of that service and hence it is linked here.
Please email if you have any questions or need help with these files.
I miss him dearly, as I know you do too.

Dear Group:
The UC Davis School of Medicine is starting a scholarship exchange program called the “Kappagoda Scholars”. This exchange is with the University of Peradeniya School of Medicine in Kandy Sri Lanka. This was Tessa’s dream for a long time, but it took a while to begin and get all the players to agree on a program.

This was Tessa’s dream for a long time, but it took a while to begin and get all the players to agree on a program.
To start the program we
will bring Sri Lankan medical student to UCD for a period of clinical
training. The inaugural exchange will start this academic year.
Depending on funds we hope to expand the program so that we can bring Sri
Lankan veterinary students from the University of Peradeniya to UCD as
well.
If anyone would like to
contribute to this fund (University of California, School of Medicine Kappagoda
Scholars Fund) OR would like to provide housing for Sri Lankan medical students
(in Sacramento) for a period of 4 or 8 weeks please let me know.
The funds will be used exclusively to pay for costs related to student
travel and accommodations. I will send around the bios of the first
Sri Lankan students once they are selected. They will be here in Northern
California from early January through mid February and will all be very strong
students who speak English fluently.
Thanks,
Michael
