Minutes of the meeting of the organizing committee
Held on 20th April at Dr Kapuwatta’s residence
Present were
Drs Sarath Kapuwatta (Chair)

Jayalath De Silva
Manasara Wedisinghe
Piyaseeli Wedisinghe
Minutes of the previous meeting was read & adopted.
The relevant points discussed were as follows.
1. Dr Kapuwatta read out a letter received from The Bank of Ceylon for sponsorship of an advertisement in the souvenir. for the back cover ( Rs 15000). We will have to send a representative to collect the advertising material from B.O.C.
We thank Dr Buddhadasa for arranging the same.
2. .Dr Jayalth has done a good job sending 21 letters to our batch mates living in SL , a few have confirmed their participation , while there are others who have not responded to the letters. He will be sending a list of those who have not contacted him , to be posted in theBlog , in the hope that someone one will help him to get in touch with him.
Those who have not responded so far are Drs CLV Abeynaike, KPGunasekara ,ELT de Silva, Maxie Fernandopulle,GSGnanasingham, Mahinda Gunasekara, & GGunatilaka.
Addresses of the fo;llowing are not known. Motilal Gunarante , Anton Fernando, Millicent Dias, Swineetha Dasanayaka(Atapattu), Sankaranarayana, Swarna Premawansa ,& Therese Kariyawasam
3. Dr Kapuwatta will soon get an update on the names of participants already Registered & number of rooms booked.
4 We have not had any confirmation from Drug Firms about sponsorships other than Ranbaxy who has given Rs 10000/. Dr Jayakuru will attempt to get in touch with the Drug Firms we have already written to.
5 .The main items of expenditure are the Band for the Gala dinner, printing of the souvenir paying the DJ at the Peduru party .
6 The cost of the Group Photograph will be notified later and will have to be met by each individual.
7. There is a suggestion to charge a nominal fee for the event as Registration Fee. (This is besides booking in at the Hotel). .We will have a Registration desk anyway to hand over the souvenir, programme etc.
8. Peduru party will be complete with an orchestra playing the Serpina, Thabla & the flute. A suggestion has been made to have them for the first hour or so , so as to appease those who love the good old classicals like “Dakkoth Padmawathie “etc. This will be followed by the DJ for the rest of the evening.
